Netflix’s English TV Top 10 list for the third week in a row was dominated by Ryan Murphy’s “Dahmer — Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story,” with 205.33 million hours viewed for the week of Oct. 3-9. That means the limited series is now Netflix’s second most popular English-language program ever, with 701.37 million hours watched after four weeks on the platform, behind only Shonda Rhimes’ “Bridgerton” seasons 1 and 2, which have each garnered more watch time than seasons 1 and 2 of Shonda Rhimes’ “Bridgerton.” In its first four weeks on Netflix, “Dahmer” has outshone seasons 1 and 2 of Shonda Rhimes’ “Bridgerton.”

The record for most Netflix TV hours watched in the first four weeks still belongs to “Squid Game,” the South Korean hit that garnered 1.65 billion views in its initial 28 days on air.

The 10-part series “Monster,” which came out September 21st of this year, tells the story of Milwaukee serial killer Dahmer from the perspectives of his victims. In total, 17 men and boys were murdered between 1978 and 1991 by Dahmer. According to Netflix’s description of the show, in addition to “the systemic racism and institutional failures” of the Wisconsin police, the series also explores how these motivated “one of America’s most notorious serial killers to continue his murderous spree in plain sight for over a decade.”

“Monster” has been famous among Netflix members — but reviewers have panned the show, which currently has a 52% critics’ score on Rotten Tomato. Variety TV critic Caroline Framke called the limited series “predictable,” adding, “It’s a grim, sepia-toned slog that rarely justifies its own existence.”

On the film side, on Netflix’s Top 10 English Films list, Ryan Murphy-produced horror movie “Mr. Harrigan’s Phone” debuted at No. 2 with 35.42 million hours watched after its Oct. 5 debut, according to the streamer. Ana de Armas’s film, “Blonde,” about Marilyn Monroe, gathered17.41 million hours viewed during the week of Oct. 3-9 (and 54.75 million since its Sept. 28 release). The chart-topper for the same time period, “Luckiest Girl Alive” starring Mila Kunis and based on Jessica Knoll’s bestseller, garnered 43.08 million views (ranking in the Top 10 internationally 91 countries).

Meanwhile, Netflix users were enthusiastic about the “Conversations With a Killer” documentary series, with “The Jeffrey Dahmer Tapes” (31.4 million minutes seen) and “The John Wayne Gacy Tapes” (8.86 million hours viewed) both cracking the Top 10 for the week on the English TV chart. Mike Flanagan’s recent horror program, which recently broke the Guinness World Record for most jump scares in a premiere episode, also made it to the Top 10.

“The Empress,” a German historical drama about the life of Empress Elisabeth of Austria, maintained its No. 1 position with 59.43 million hours seen across non-English TV series. “High Water,” a Polish crime drama, debuted in the No. 2 spot with 45.84 million hours watched. Netflix’s Korean shows were still popular among viewers last week, with “Little Women” (23.58 million hours), “Extraordinary Attorney Woo” (12.22 million hours), “Alchemy of Souls” (9.78 million hours), “Young Lady and Gentleman” (8.52 million hours) and “Narco-Saints”(7 .58 million hours) all making it onto the non-English TV Top 10 list for the week of Oct 3-9th.
