Texas Chainsaw Massacre Prequel, ‘Leatherface’ is Coming Soon to Theaters
Texas Chainsaw Massacre prequel ‘Leatherface’ is ramping up production. Hollywood is moving forward on the prequel to the horror classic, Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
According to reports, French filmmakers, Julien Maury and Alexandre Bustillo will direct the prequel to the “Texas Chainsaw Massacre” prequel, “Leatherface” for Millennium Films.
The upcoming prequel was written by Seth M. Sherwood and will center around the origin story that follows Leatherface’s early years in the 1970s.
If you didn’t know, Texas Chainsaw Massacre is based on the true story of Ed Gein. Ed Gein was a murder and body snatcher. He committed several crimes in his hometown of Plainfield, Wisconsin. Gein would remove corpses from local graveyards and create trophies out of their skin and bones. Gein later confessed to killing two women in the 1950s. Ed Gein made masks from the skin from female heads while also keeping noses, heads, and skulls throughout his home. Gein was later placed in a mental health facility.
The directing duo, Muary and Bustillo, previously worked on “Inside”, “Livid” and “Among the Living”.
