‘The Jennifer Hudson Show’ Delays Premiere During Strike After Drew Barrymore, ‘The Talk’ Reverse Course

Date:

“Premiere of ‘The Show' Postponed Amid WGA Strike as and ‘The Talk' Reevaluate”

“The Jennifer Hudson Show” has joined the ranks of daytime delaying their premieres in response to mounting pressure from the entertainment . Initially, the talk show had intended to proceed without writers during the ongoing WGA strike.

While production had resumed last week with plans to return to the airwaves on Monday, September 18, the decision faced criticism from individuals on the picket lines. Many viewed the move by daytime talk shows to continue without writers as detrimental to the broader struggle for an equitable agreement with the studios.

After experiencing days of backlash for her choice to resume “The Drew Barrymore Show,” Drew Barrymore announced on Sunday that her show would now be postponed until after the strike concludes. Subsequently, “The Talk” followed suit, and now “The Jennifer Hudson Show” will halt production and defer its planned premiere.

Sherri Shepherd's talk show, “Sherri,” will proceed with its scheduled premiere on Monday, unaffected by the strike due to its non-WGA status.

“Real Time With ” remains the only recently resumed show without writers that has yet to postpone production. “The View” never ceased production and has been airing new throughout the summer without its two WGA writers, resulting in picket action.

-distributed syndicated “The Jennifer Hudson Show” debuted in 2022 and quickly gained popularity, garnering six Daytime Emmy Awards , including one for Outstanding Daytime Talk Series.

The WGA negotiating committee announced last week that they are set to reconvene with the studios in the week for further discussions.
