‘The Last of Us’ Will Adapt ‘Part II’ Video Game Across “Multiple Seasons”

Date:

HBO’s ‘The Last of Us’ saga is about to be adapted into a multi-season hit series, as the Part II video game will have its storyline brought to life on television screens.

Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann, the masterminds behind The Last of Us television adaptation, affirmed that their interpretation would stay faithful to its source material – the lauded video game saga. As the two creators plot out the future for their widely-acclaimed show, they’ve verified that it will take multiple seasons to cover Part II.

When GQ U.K. questioned Mazin and Druckmann on whether the second season would include an extended version of the sequel’s narrative, Mazin firmly said, “No way.”

“It’s more than one season,” Druckmann added.

Although the showrunners could not share details on how long it will take for this story to be told entirely, Mazin provided some additional insight: “You have noted correctly that we will not say how many. But more than one is factually correct.”

The Last of Us Part II will be delivered to the PlayStation 4 in 2020. It’s more intricate than its original prequel, and it’s easy to see why gamers are excited about its release! With many characters, storylines, and action sequences, the sequel will be more elaborate than its predecessor.

“Some of the stuff I’m most excited for [in Part II] is the changes we’ve discussed and seeing the story come to life again in this other version,” Druckmann said. “And I think it’s exciting because it leans into those feelings you had from the game, really heavily, in a new way.”

The Last of Us Part II features several beloved characters from the first installment, such as Pedro Pascal’s Joel and Bella Ramsey’s Ellie, plus new additions Gabriel Luna’s Tommy and Rutina Wesley’s Maria. HBO has not made any definite declarations regarding another season, but its inventors have stirred anticipation. As Mazin stated, there is more to The Last of Us. There may be a lot more infected later.

Disney+ just dropped a teaser featuring Michelle Yeoh and Ke Huy Quan reuniting for their upcoming American Born Chinese project! Entertainment fans everywhere are buzzing with excitement over this much-anticipated title.
