Is ABC going to cancel The Muppets?
The once highest rated comedy to debut this fall has seen it’s ratings drastically drop. The Muppets was expected to be the most watched comedy series to hit TV networks this year. But, it looks as though people have moved on and can careless to see what happens to Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy. According to Deadline, The Muppets ratings dropped 31% from last week’s premiere.
However, if you are worried if studio executives are going to pull the plug on the new series, then you may be in luck. As Deadline reports, The Muppets ratings are doing better than the short-lived series Selfie and Manhattan Love Story but, if ratings continue to fall for The Muppets expect ABC to pull the plug sooner than later.
The Muppets which is a show-within-a-show, is set in Los Angeles and depicts the everyday personal and professional lives of The Muppets during production of Up Late with Miss Piggy; a fictional late-night talk show starring Miss Piggy and airing on the ABC network after Jimmy Kimmel Live!. The Muppets is basically a parody of other mockumentary-style series, such asModern Family, Parks and Recreation and The Office, by employing the same single-camera setup filming style with the implication of a documentary crew filming everyone.
