‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ is Marvel’s Shortest Film in Years

Date:

‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ arriving in theaters on July 8.

The much-awaited release of Marvel‘s Thor: Love and Thunder will see fans’ favorite Norse God come back to the big screens this summer.

With just weeks away from the official theatrical premiere of Thor: Love and Thunder, AMC Theaters has revealed that film’s runtime.

According to them, it will be 119 minutes long – or 1 hour 59 seconds if you include credits. This is shorter than any other Marvel Studios release in recent history (including Ant-Man which was 118 minutes).

It’s interesting because usually movies these days run around two hours but sometimes they go longer depending on how many stories they want to tell without dragging things out too much.

With three movies in the last six years that have hit below two hours, it’s no wonder Marvel likes to keep their films short. Respectively including Thor and his latest adventure on Earth (with plenty of comedy), as well as The Dark World which was much darker than its predecessor, still clocked in at only 112 minutes.

Chris Hemsworth returns to play the God of Thunder, along with Christian Bale playing Gorr The God Butcher and Tessa Thompson joining in on behalf of King Valkyrie; it’s definitely an impressive cast.
