Trevor Noah will most likely replace Jon Stewart on ‘The Daily Show’
It looks as though Jon Stewart has found his ‘Daily Show’ replacement. According to reports, comedian Trevor Noah is going to replace Jon Stewart on ‘The Daily Show’.
From Deadline:
Trevor Noah, the relatively new correspondent addition to Comedy Central’s The Daily Show, now is considered the most likely candidate to replace Stewart as show host, a source told Deadline today.
Trevor Noah appeared on ‘The Daily Show’ several months ago and frequently played a clueless American with little knowledge about international politics and current events. But, the comedian has been around for several years. According to All Things Comedy, Noah’s mother, Patricia, is a black South African (Xhosa), and his father, Robert Noah, is white (of Swiss-German descent). His parents’ relationship was illegal at the time of his birth, and his mother was jailed and fined by the South African government. His mixed-race heritage, his experiences growing up in a Soweto township, and his observations about race and ethnicity are leading themes in his comedy.
In 2012 Noah became the first South African stand-up comedian to appear on The Tonight Show and in 2013, he became the first to appear on Late Show with David Letterman.Â
