The Walking Dead Spinoff series details are finally revealed in a leaked copy of the pilot script.
Robert Kirkman has revealed that the upcoming Walking Dead companion series, aka Cobalt will be “very different” from the original series. In fact, he is very serious about how different the show will be. But, besides setting the zombie apocalypse in Los Angeles instead of the Peach State, how will the series be different. Well thanks to a leaked copy of the Walking Dead companion series script, we will get a glimpse of what we can expect.
(Spoilers ahead)
The original pilot script () from the companion series, which is called Fear the Walking Dead, which may or not be the same name of the pilot episode or the original series provides with a few clues.
The most interesting part of the pilot episode, however, is that it goes back to the beginning, before anyone understood exactly what was going on.
Here are some of the parts from the pilot script that give us an idea on the origin story, and the family the show will be following:
Essentially, nobody knows what is going on and that people have not figured out that zombies like to eat people. The pilot episode will cover basically everything that happened while Rick was in his coma during the pilot episode of The Walking Dead.
This is an extremely different take on the zombie apocalypse and it will be interesting to see how long the companion series will focus on the initial outbreak. Will that be the entire series? Or will the companion series eventually head in the direction of the original The Walking Dead.
Ultimately, it may just be more compelling to explore the days before everything went to hell and people started eating other people. Perhaps there will be a crossover episode where Rick travels to Los Angeles on a horse and saves everything with nothing but a toothpick. I don’t know but, I am really excited for the new Walking Dead spinoff. What do you think? Share with us your thoughts in the comments below!
