Warner Bros. Pushes Gerard Butler ‘Geostorm’ Back to 2017

Warner Bros. has pushed back the release of Geostorm the Louisiana filmed movie that was expected to be released October 21, 2016.

Now according to reports, the sci-fi adventure film will hit theaters on January 13, 2017.

Geostorm features Gerard Butler and marks the directorial debut of veteran writer-producer Dean Devlin.

The project was developed independently by David Ellison’s Skydance Productiosn before Warner Bros. picked it up.

From a script written by Devlin (Independence Day), Geostorm follows a satellite designer who heads into space to prevent climate-controlling satellites from creating a man-made storm of epic sizes when he and his estranged brother learn of a plot to assassinate the president.

Geostorm is also set to open against Boss Baby, The Dark Tower, The Magnificent Seven and Power Rangers.
