Are you ready to audition for Disney’s the Lion King?

Disney is ramping up production and holding open casting auditions for their hit show the Lion King.

The major does a theatrical production is casting both kid and adult actors for major roles in the upcoming Lion King show.

Disney’s casting department is headed to Los Angeles and San Francisco to audition talented kids and adults actors, dancers, and singers. This show is a musical and the Disney casting department is looking for people who can sing, dance and act.

There are multiple audition dates in both Los Angeles and San Francisco. However, those that are not able to attend Disney’s open casting call may submit an online video audition as well.

The roles cast the directors for Disney are looking for is the role of Simba as well as the roles of Nala and Shenzi.

Disney is considering talents of all ethnicities and kids do not need any experience in order to audition.

The Lion King is casting both boys and girls who are between the ages of 9 and 12 to play lion cubs Simba and Nala.

About The Lion King:

The Lion King is a musical based on the 1994 hit Disney movie about a lion cub named Simba who is destined to become the king of the jungle. the original movie featured music by Elton John and lyrics written by Broadway legend Tim Rice and a musical score created by the legendary Hans Zimmer.

The lion King is one of the most popular theatrical productions in the world with over 70 million people around the world having seen the show. The musical has even 16 Tony awards including best musical. It is Broadway’s third longest running show in history and the highest grossing Broadway production of all time having grossed over $1 billion. The Broadway show first opened in November 1997 and is considered one of the most successful theatrical musicals ever.

Lion King Open Casting Call

ADULT SINGERS

Seeking strong ADULT (18+) male and female singers who move very well to be in the ensemble and to cover or replace lead roles. Please prepare your best 16 bars (approximately 30 seconds – with sheet music) of a R&B, pop, or rock-and-roll song that best showcases your voice and range.

Please do not sing material from THE LION KING or standard Broadway theater music. A pianist will be provided.

CHILDREN

Seeking children ages 9-12, between 52? – 58? in height, who can sing, dance and act to play the African lion cubs Simba and Nala. We encourage children of all backgrounds to attend. No performance experience necessary. Be prepared to be taught the last verse of “Just Can’t Wait to be King.”

All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Parents or guardians must remain at the audition site at all times. Please be prepared to wait.

ADULT DANCERS

Seeking strong ADULT (18+) male and female dancers with a modern/ballet dance background. You must be warmed up and ready by the start time. Please wear form-conscious clothing appropriate for dancing, plus flat jazz shoes or bare feet. You may be asked to sing, so please bring a contemporary song that shows off your voice and range. Bring sheet music.
