Having introduced the DVD mailer initiative a quarter-century ago, Netflix’s inception sprouted from the roots of co-founder Reed Hastings’ California abode. The idea was triggered when Hastings faced a penalty for a delinquent movie return at Blockbuster, catalyzing the company’s birth.
Die-hard enthusiasts of the DVD service are in for a special treat as Netflix unveiled plans for a captivating “finale surprise” in an email dispatched to its cherished patrons. Opting into this exclusive promotion opens the chance of receiving, at random, up to 10 DVDs from their queue through traditional mail.
As Netflix stated, anticipation is part of the game: “The mystery unfolds as you spot these unexpected envelopes in your mailbox!” The unpredictability lends an element of excitement to the process.
The clock is ticking on this offer, with DVDs scheduled for dispatch by September 29. Subscribers are granted the convenience of returning these DVDs via mail, extending the timeline for their return up until October 27.
