50 Cent has recently announced the production of an all-new, original series for Paramount+ named Vice City.
Adding to the success of G-Unit Film & Television, Deadline reported that this project was spearheaded by “an original idea from writers and executive producers Darnell Metayer (Transformers: Rise of the Beasts) and Josh Peters (Transformers: Rise of the Beasts), with Chad Stahelski (John Wick franchise) serving as executive producer/director.”
The show’s narrative is set to chronicle three former soldiers who are also close friends. After being disgraced by the military for their association with the Iran Contra scandal, this journey returns to Miami in the mid-80s. With no source of income, the three comrades are left feeling sidelined and abandoned by their own nation that they had selflessly served. Joining forces with a mysterious Colombian immigrant, they find an audacious gang of criminals motivated by their nefarious desires and dire financial predicaments. News has yet to be released on whether this film draws inspiration from the iconic video game series Grand Theft Auto.
50 Cent has added to his extensive work with the hit Starz series Power. He was an executive producer and director for this series. He has developed various offshoots of Power, including spin-offs called Power Book II: Ghost, Power Book III: Raising Kanan, and Power Book IV: Force. He proclaimed a British boxing drama entitled Fightland. Unfortunately, there is no release date for Vice City.
