New’ National Treasure’ Project Update by Hollywood Producer Jerry Bruckheimer
Producer Jerry Bruckheimer has provided an intriguing update on an as-yet-untitled National Treasure sequel.

In a recent Reddit AMA for Top Gun: Maverick, one fan asked if the director had started working on a sequel. “any plans to work with Nicolas Cage again any time soon,” Bruckheimer responded, “Absolutely. I love Nicolas, he’s a brilliant actor, and we are currently working on a script for National Treasure.” Although he didn’t say whether the script is for National Treasure 3 or a TV series, it seems likely that Cage will return to the franchise sometime.
It was revealed in March 2021 that a National Treasure TV series is in production at Disney+ with a younger cast. Production began in February 2022, and it was announced in April that Justin Bartha would be reprising his role as Riley Poole from the first and second films. It’s still unclear whether Cage will appear in the spinoff.
Around 2020, a third National Treasure film was said to be in the works, with Chris Bremner penning the script, but there has been no word on that project since then.
