Job Description: The upcoming Broadway production of “Buena Vista Social Club” is seeking talented individuals for the role of Young Ibrahim Ferrer. This production tells the story of the beginning of the titular album in 1956 and the ending of a mainstay of Afro-Cuban music in 1996. The character is loosely based on the real Ibrahim Ferrer, a singer with humble beginnings who became a nimble showman with a voice like honey.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform the role of Young Ibrahim Ferrer in the Broadway production.
- Sing and act in various scenes depicting Ferrer's journey and musical career.
- Collaborate with the director, cast, and crew to bring the character to life.
- Participate in rehearsals, run-throughs, and performances as scheduled.
- Maintain the energy and authenticity of the character throughout the production.
Requirements:
- Male-presenting individual in their 20s.
- Black, Afro-Latino, or Afro-Caribbean ethnicity.
