Get Ready! Production on ‘House of the Dragon’ Season 2 Has Begun
For all the devoted Game of Thrones enthusiasts, HBO has delightful news: production for Season 2 of House of the Dragon is officially in progress! Last year, the show shattered numerous records and was welcomed with open arms by worldwide viewers. It even gained an impressive accolade as HBO’s most-watched new original series! Unsurprisingly, it took only a short time for season two to be announced.
If everything runs smoothly, the series is planned for a 2024 return to spotlight events of the Dance of Dragons civil war. Last year, renowned Game of Thrones novelist George R. Martin declared that it would take four seasons comprising ten episodes each to properly depict the story’s narrative arc and deliver a satisfactory conclusion.
“It’s time to return to King’s Landing,” The Game of Thrones account posted a tantalizing teaser featuring an image of the Iron Throne, stirring anticipation for what lies ahead.
Cast members Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Emma D’Arcy, Eve Best, Steve Toussaint, Fabien Frankel, Ewan Mitchell, Tom Glynn-Carney, Sonoya Mizuno, Rhys Ifans, Harry Collett, Bethany Antonia, Phoebe Campbell, Phia Saban, Jefferson Hall, and Matthew Needham reprise their roles from season one.
“House of the Dragon has returned. We are thrilled to be shooting again with members of our original family and new talents on both sides of the camera. All your favorite characters will soon conspire at the council tables, marching with their armies and riding their dragons into battle. We can’t wait to share what we have in store,” Ryan Condal, series showrunner, explains.
