The Buzz Around Sydney Sweeney as Spider-Woman in the Upcoming Blockbuster ‘Madame Web’ is Growing!

Sydney Sweeney is an American actress best known for her work in Euphoria and The Handmaid’s Tale. She began acting at the age of 8, performing in plays, musical theatre and film/TV projects. In 2019, Sydney received two Emmy Award nominations for her roles in The Handmaid’s Tale and Sharp Objects. Her other credits include the features Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and Everything, Everything. She most recently starred as Allison in the Season 2 finale of HBO’s Euphoria.

Now, Sweeney is making waves with her upcoming role as Spider-Woman in the new blockbuster ‘Madame Web’.

Last year, Euphoria’s darling Sydney Sweeney was revealed to be joining the cast of Sony Pictures’ Marvel film Madame Web. Today we have a new revelation that will thrill fans: what role she will assume!

Industry expert Jeff Sneider declared on his widely-respected The Hot Mic podcast that Sweeney would be the second Spider-Woman featured in Madame Web. Trustworthy sources have vouched for the integrity of this statement, so it’s safe to say we can count on seeing Sweeney join Madame Web soon! According to Marvel comics, the alter-ego of Julia Carpenter is the second in-continuity Spider Woman within MCU. Sneider states that her involvement with Madame Web plays a significant part in Sony’s plan for the upcoming film. It was still being determined who would portray the enigmatic Madame Web Johnson – Cassandra Webb or Julia Carpenter. Julia is the current Madame Webb in comics, passed on from Cassandra Webb. We can assume Johnson plays the role of Cassandra, leaving Sweeney as Julia Carpenter.

If Sneider’s presumption is accurate, Julia Carpenter will first appear as a live-action character when Madame Web premieres in cinemas. Dam Scott, Emma Roberts, Celeste O’Connor, Isabela Merced, Tahar Rahim, Mike Epps, and Zosia Ma joined forces with Johnson and Sweeney to perform an impressive performance in this highly anticipated film. Here’s what the official synopsis of Madame Web says: “The film will be an origin story of the clairvoyant, whose psychic abilities allow her to see within the spider world.” After months of production, the highly anticipated Madame Web will premiere in February 2024. Get ready for an unforgettable cinematic experience!
