‘Top Gun: Maverick' is now the highest-grossing film of 2022.
The action-adventure topped ‘Marvel‘s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,' as the highest-grossing movie in 2022.
The high-adrenaline, flyboy-based aviation film has been taking the top spot this year! After earning another USD 6.74 million on its third Monday it's now at number one with a total of $402 million so far.
Top Gun: Maverick beat out Doctor Strange to take the top spot as this year's highest-grossing film in North America. The sequel only made USD 399 million domestically, which is in no way a disappointment for Marvel and Disney.
This puts Top Gun: Maverick is now the second-biggest domestic earner after Spider-Man, which has grossed USD 804 million domestically.
The film is still on track to make over USD 1 billion. If this happens it will be one of Cruise's top-grossing films and could overtake his global record holder for Mission Impossible: Fallout!
