Casting Call for Short Film “A Story About the Grief of Who We Are”

Job Description: Funsize Films Group is casting for the short film “A Story About the Grief of Who We Are.” We are seeking a male actor to portray the character Dan. This role is open to union and non-union actors of any race, aged late 20s to early 30s. The film explores deep emotional themes and requires a committed and talented actor.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Portray the character Dan authentically, capturing the depth and nuance of his grief.
  • Follow the director’s guidance and collaborate with the production team.
  • Participate in rehearsals and preparation as required.
  • Perform during a one-day shoot scheduled for early to mid-September 2024 in Tiverton, RI.

Requirements:

  • Male, any race, aged late 20s to early 30s.
  • Strong acting skills with the ability to convey complex emotions.
  • Professional attitude and reliability.
  • Previous acting experience preferred.
  • Availability for one day of shooting in early to mid-September 2024.

Compensation Details:

  • Paid role.
  • Open to both union and non-union actors.

Background Extras for Feature Film

CP Casting is seeking union and non-union actors for background extra work in the feature film Dweller being directed by Matt Leslie and Stephen J. Smith and filming in central Massachusetts in April and May.

Actors must be able to do very physical work and be comfortable with heavy SFX makeup application… *(i.e. – Zombie looks)

IN and AROUND Devens, MA. 

IMPORTANT – A select group of extras will be asked to wear special contact lenses to change the look/color of your eye. Please CONFIRM if you are comfortable wearing contact lenses. You do not need to do this to still be considered for the work.

STORYLINE: Pete, an old man near the end of his life, waits alone in his empty apartment. Duane, a representative from “Operations and Procedures, the Great Beyond,” knocks on Pete’s door and tells him that he needs to ask Pete a few questions before his imminent departure to the afterlife. The two men share a delicious sandwich together as Pete is forced to confront a lifetime of guilt and regret. Or maybe he’s just trying to buy a little time.

SEEKING:

PETE is a tired, old man, 70+, dressed in faded khakis, a wrinkled shirt, an unbuttoned cardigan, and a comfortable pair of tennis sneakers.

DUANE is a downbeat, middle-aged man with razor stubble, dressed in a stained black suit that’s seen better days, a thin black tie, and an ill-fitting white shirt.
