Casting Call: Deaf Talent for Lead & Supporting Roles in Feature Film

Job Detail: Join an upcoming BBC and BFI-backed feature film as we seek exceptional Deaf talent for lead and supporting roles. This project is dedicated to showcasing the diversity and skill of the Deaf community, and you will be part of a narrative that embraces authenticity and inclusion.

Job Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the director and production team to bring the characters to life.
• Engage with script readings and translate them into British Sign Language (BSL) or German Sign Language (DGS) as required.
• Attend rehearsals and be committed to the filming schedule.
• Collaborate with other actors and crew members to ensure a cohesive and supportive environment.

Requirements:

• You must be UK-based Deaf or Hard of Hearing (HoH) talent.
• Open to any gender and ethnicity between the ages of 21 and 50 years old.
• Proficiency in British Sign Language (BSL) is required.
• For one role, the ability to sign in German Sign Language (DGS) is required.
• No previous acting experience is necessary; both seasoned actors and non-actors are encouraged to apply.

Compensation: The roles are paid, and compensation will be in line with Equity/cinema rates. Specifics regarding payment will be discussed during the hiring process and detailed in the contract.

Casting Call:  Open Casting For Young UK Rappers

Job Details: We are currently seeking young, talented UK rappers for an exciting upcoming project. This is a unique opportunity for individuals between the ages of 10 and 18, with a specific focus on those of Mixed Race or Black ethnicity. The ideal candidate will possess a natural London / Home Counties accent, standing under 5ft5″ in height. Actors with exceptional rap skills are highly encouraged to apply.

Job Responsibilities:

• Attend auditions and casting sessions as required.
• Collaborate closely with the production team to develop and refine the character’s persona.
• Be available for rehearsals, fittings, and other pre-production activities.
• Execute rap performances with skill, precision, and authenticity.
• Display quick wit, humor, and confidence in both on-screen and off-screen interactions.
• Utilize acting/improv skills (if available) to enhance character portrayal.

Requirements:

• Age: 10 to 18 years old
• Ethnicity: Mixed Race or Black
• Height: Under 5ft5″
• Nationality: UK based with a valid passport (minimum 12 months remaining)
• Exceptional rap skills (actors with rap abilities are strongly encouraged to apply)
• Natural London / Home Counties accent
• Availability from January to April 2024 for a total of 4 months (both in the USA and UK)

Compensation:

• Competitive compensation will be offered, commensurate with experience and skills.
• Travel, accommodation, and related expenses will be covered during the project period.
