Project Description:

We are casting for the role of Abigail, a 5-year-old Black Jamaican girl for a historical TV series set on an 18th-century Jamaican plantation. Abigail is the daughter of enslaved plantation workers. Despite the hardships of her family’s life, Abigail’s home life is filled with joy and love. She enjoys singing traditional African songs taught to her by her grandmother, and her parents work to protect her, providing her with a playful and nurturing environment.

Job Responsibilities:

• Portray the innocence, joy, and playful spirit of Abigail within a challenging historical context.
• Participate in scenes that focus on the familial bond and cultural heritage through music and play.
• Collaborate with the director and cast to authentically bring Abigail’s joyful and loving family dynamic to life.

Requirements:

• Gender: Female
• Ethnicity: Black
• Age: 5 years old (must be able to convincingly portray 5)
• Nationality: Jamaican or of Jamaican descent preferred
• Ability to perform simple singing, as the role requires participation in traditional African songs.
• Must be able to convey childlike innocence, joy, and emotion in a supportive family environment.

Casting Call: TV Series – Role of Betina

Project Description:

We are casting for the role of Betina, a courageous 15-year-old Black Jamaican girl for a historical TV series set in an 18th-century Jamaican plantation. Betina is an enslaved worker at Hope Hill, displaying remarkable bravery despite her young age. Influenced by an elder worker who teaches her the principles of African spirituality, Betina joins a rebellion against the plantation, seeking justice and freedom.

Job Responsibilities:

• Portray the emotional and physical journey of Betina as she navigates life on the plantation and participates in the rebellion.
• Participate in scenes that may involve intense emotions, action sequences, and dialogue reflecting historical themes.
• Work closely with the director and other actors to authentically portray Betina’s strength, resilience, and connection to African spirituality.

Requirements:

• Gender: Female
• Ethnicity: Black
• Age: 15 years old (must be able to convincingly portray 15)
• Nationality: Jamaican or of Jamaican descent preferred
• Strong acting skills required to convey emotional depth.
• Comfortable with portraying historical themes surrounding slavery and rebellion.

Detective Patsy – Plain-Clothed Detective (TV Series)

Job Description:
We are casting for Detective Patsy, a female Jamaican detective in her 50s. Patsy works in a small, low-crime town and is known for her no-nonsense attitude. Though she is warm to those she trusts, she remains curt and on constant guard.

Job Responsibilities:

• Portray Patsy’s sharp and guarded nature while showing warmth to trusted individuals.
• Act in scenes that depict life in a quiet but tense environment.

Requirements:

• Female, Jamaican, aged 50s.
• Available for filming in the UK and Jamaica.
