What will you work on?

GUND, a division of Spin Master, is a premium plush brand with 125 years of history. Currently looking for an Art Director to join the Brand Design team. They will lead concept creation and work through production layouts with designers, agencies and copywriters. This role reports to the Creative Director of Brand Design and will be hybrid from our Long Island City office with in-office attendance required 2-3 times weekly.

How will you create impact?

  • Based on strategic direction from Brand partners, design and direct to develop mood boards, color pallets, iconography, type and logo development.
  • Lead blue sky development of new opportunities and white spaces.
  • Evolve existing brands to market needs and identify trends within a given space.
  • Art direct lifestyle photography sessions onsite and select final images.
  • Maintain a consistently high level of quality, thoroughness and attention to detail.
  • Collaborate with Product Designers, Structural Engineering, Brand/Marketing, Quality Control and Product Development teams, Licensing Coordinators, as well as overseas agents, as necessary, in the package development and approval process.
  • Develop marketing support materials, creative boards and layout presentations for new and existing business development presentations and trade shows.
  • Drive overall Brand Design direction for digital marketing assets where required.
  • Effectively communicate all project related progress/issues or concerns to the Creative Director and to Project Management in a timely and professional manner.
  • Solicit creative direction from the Creative Director and / or Director of Packaging in a timely manner.
  • Maintain knowledge of new technologies within your area of expertise.


What are your skills and experience?

  • Minimum 8 to 10 years in the consumer products industry; toy package design preferred with Art Direction experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign and Acrobat. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) preferred.
  • Undergraduate degree in Graphic Design, (BFA) or equivalent; or 4 or more years related experience and / or training.


The anticipated salary range for candidates who will work in New York City is $75,000 to $100,000. The salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to years of experience within the job, years of experience within the required industry, education, etc. Spin Master Inc. is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions
that work only in other states.

What will you work on?

Spin Master is seeking a Director of Brand and Franchise planning, who knows what it takes to build and excite fandoms. As a seasoned Planner, you will bridge the tactical-side of Communications Planning and the insights-side of Brand Planning to yield remarkable work for our internal franchise stakeholders. Reporting to the VP Brand Planning and Communication Planning, you will utilize Spin Master’s data and insights to provide the unique voice of the consumer in business and integrated marketing plans. You will translate business briefs into clear, motivating creative briefs for our creative team as well as design strategic frameworks needed for Global planning presentations as it relates to our franchise brands. You will work closely with the Entertainment Team to develop well-considered plans that clearly deliver against our consumer and audience needs. needs. You will help to carefully craft brand positionings and foundations to ensure strong go-to-market strategies.

How will you create impact?

  • Craft strategic global brand positioning foundations on franchise brands and be a partner to Creative Directors in bringing our campaigns to life while helping to define and shape Spin Master’s internal brands and positioning as needed
  • Translate and shape business and creative briefs, defining what they need, and ensuring our plans deliver against objectives
  • Shape playbook narratives in collaboration with Comms Planners to deliver strong franchise plans that look holistically at all aspects of the brand (Toy, Entertainment, and Digital)
  • Work closely with Research and Insights team to help ensure that we’re on top of the latest in consumer research and asking the right questions along the way and work closely with several functions teams to create more strategic plans that deliver a Consumer First approach that over time that unlock stronger sales
  • Collaborate on consumer journeys that help provide integrated content solutions along with a clear through-line that rationalizes how and why our solutions work
  • Distill data and findings into clear actionable consumer insights for our brands and products
  • Write the narrative and presentations for on-going business needs and arm business and brand owners with a solid understanding of long-range trends affecting consumer behavior


How will you fit into the team?

  • A modern pop culture anthropologist who can author a killer brief and has passion for kid’s entertainment
  • Ability to operate independently while demonstrating strong problem-solving, presentation, and communication (both written and verbal), skills

What are your skills and experience?

  • At least 8 years of experience and incredible proven impact working in advertising, digital platforms, or related fields
  • Solid Creative agency experience developing both traditional and digital work in the strategy or planning department
  • Expertise in various dimensions of strategic planning: with specific expertise in brand planning (brand foundations and consumer insight) and strong communications planning acumen (integrated connections planning that defines the role and connection of each element)
  • Comfortable using data sources from Ipsos to Google to Concept testing

What will you work on?

The Creative Producers main function is to ensure that the creative objectives/assumptions as set out by the SME Development Team, VP Current Series and Director, Current Series are met. The Creative Producer is responsible for managing the day-to-day creative aspects of the production of an SME project which includes a commitment to working with the Production team to remain on schedule and budget, ensuring that brand and toy objectives are managed and met and supporting other key creative talent on the team (director, story editor, etc).

How will you create impact?

  • Responsible for reviewing and giving feedback on all creative elements of the production of a project including writing, casting, voice direction, design, leicas, animation, post production, etc. to ensure best in class programming
  • Supporting key creatives on the project including Directors, Story Editors, Voice Directors and Art Director and ensuring all are working in unison.
  • Effectively communicate with the Director, Current Series across all key creative stages for input andguidance
  • Key point person on day to day broadcaster relations
  • Work closely with Line Producers to ensure that production houses/writers/voice artists and any other creative talent to ensure smooth running of entire creative operation
  • Attend voice records, mixes, online and offline edits as required
  • Facilitate brainstorms for themed episodes and future seasons
  • Arrange story summits to ensure script schedule is maintained
  • Ensure that toy objectives are met by tracking number of appearances of key toy items, when they should appear and that the set play pattern is featured in the series
  • Prepare and give presentations at key internal Executive Meetings (concept review, line review etc)
  • Manage day to day on creative execution of brand support initiatives with Franchise and Marketing teams including toy play videos, cut downs and other YT shorts
  • Committed to ensuring diversity across all aspects of creative production including but not limited to: characters on screen, voice actors, writers etc.

What are your skills and experience?

  • In depth knowledge of branded content business for the preschool to tween audience
  • Excellent storytelling skills
  • Ability to communicate story pitches or ideas in an enthusiastic, professional and succinct way
  • Knowledge of standard industry commercial terms and parameters
  • Excellent contact base with writers
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written, proven ability to work with internal and external partners
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Strong leadership qualities, able to objectively support and get the best out of teams
  • Proven track record of delivering quality content in the branded content arena
  • Strong understanding of the animation production process – both 2D and 3D.
