Producer, Commercials – KATC

Scripps Company ABC affiliate in Lafayette, Louisiana is looking for a positive, proactive, creative, and highly engaged individual to work as a Producer, Commercials in Creative Services. A Producer, Commercials is someone who is eager to develop connections and help power our local economy through creative and effective advertising by working collaboratively with the sales team and clients to produce television commercials and other program materials. This includes conceptualizing, coordinating, writing, shooting, and editing commercials.

A DAY IN THE LIFE:

  • Conceive, write, and coordinate all video and audio materials necessary for production of commercials for station clients.

  • Assist sales management and staff in creating sales videos for client presentations.

  • Develop productive and effective relationships with clients and staff members.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • A Bachelors’ degree in Communications or a related field.

  • At least two (2) years of professional experience producing, editing, and writing.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

  • Able to shoot video on broadcast quality equipment

  • Working knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Premiere, After Effects, and Photoshop

  • Professionalism to work with all levels of management and clients

  • Must be a team player; along with an ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

  • Ability to handle multiple priorities under extreme time constraints with poise, skill, and excellence.

HOW WE KEEP YOU SAFE:

Consistent with our commitment to maintain a safe workplace free of known hazards, all employees and visitors are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Come join a dynamic new national media powerhouse focused on the over-the-air TV consumer. The Scripps Networks (a growing portfolio of entertainment and news networks) provides absorbing entertainment and objective, intelligent news as we use our own distribution platforms to serve this unduplicated national audience. We meet the audience where it is with the programs it wants.

The Executive Producer, Programs will be responsible for showrunning a nightly, in-depth, context-driven show on a 24/7 news network. The selected candidate will oversee the stacking of editorial content, selecting expert guests, copyediting, greenlighting pitches and final script/package approval. The Executive Producer will also be responsible for reacting to breaking news. The ideal candidate must be creative, editorially mature and possess a superior knowledge and understanding of national and international news and the domestic audience. This role reports directly to Director, Programs.
