Casting Call: Young Actors for ‘The Undertow’

Job Details:

• Production: ‘The Undertow’, an 8-part limited series.
• Producers: Complete Fiction (Last Night in Soho, Lockwood & Co) & WIIP (Mare of Easttown) for a premium subscription video-on-demand service.
• Shoot Location: Scotland/London
• Shoot Duration: Mid-March through mid-October 2024

Job Responsibilities:

• Work collaboratively with directors and other actors to bring the character to life.
• Memorize and deliver lines with authentic Scottish accents.
• Participate in rehearsals as scheduled.
• Follow direction and provide input for character development.
• Be available for the entire shoot duration.

Character Roles:

1. ANGUS (7 years old)

   • Sweet and sensitive with a sunny disposition.
   • Enjoys Pokémon cards and playing football.
   • Scottish heritage, must have an authentic Scottish accent.

Requirements:

• No previous acting experience necessary.
• Must fit the age range of the characters as of March 2024.
• Must have Scottish heritage and able to perform with a Scottish accent.
• Must be legally allowed to work in the UK.
• Parental/guardian consent required for applicants under 16.

Compensation:

• Competitive rates, to be disclosed upon successful application.
• Standard industry contracts including payment for rehearsals, filming days, and any potential promotional activities related to the show.

Casting Call: Actors for “The Undertow” – An 8-Part Limited Series

Filming Location: Theo Park Casting (Ted Lasso, The Rings of Power) is looking for actors in Scotland, preferably close to play supporting roles.

Shooting Schedule: Mid-March through Mid-October 2024

Available Roles:

1. CAITLIN (to play 16): We’re looking for a female actor who can convincingly portray a 16-year-old. The character is described as wise beyond her years, deeply sensitive, and paradoxically perceptive; she observes the world through a lens of impulsiveness. She has a rebellious streak that she’s quick to indulge. Requirements: Must be able to perform with a Scottish accent. Must be aged 16 by March 2024.

2. NOAH (to play 7): Seeking a male actor for the role of Noah, a sensitive and empathetic character who would rather organise his Pokémon cards than play football. A soft side to him, he balances wit with a sunny disposition. Requirements: Must have a Scottish accent. Must be aged 7 by March 2024.

3. SOPHIE (to play 10): Casting for a female actor to bring to life Sophie, an intelligent and eccentric girl. She carries a mature beyond her years with an adventurous spirit and a compassionate heart. Requirements: Should have a Scottish accent.

Compensation: Competitive pay, according to industry standards. Specific rates will be discussed upon successful casting.

Additional Details:

• Previous acting experience is not necessary.
• Applicants must be eligible to work in Scotland.
• Auditions will be held in person and/or virtually, depending on the current health guidelines and candidate’s location.
