Casting Call: Non-Union Actors for Feature Film
Synopsis:
Set in the late 1990s, the film follows eight-year-old Sasha and her Hungarian immigrant family as they embark on a new life on Vancouver Island. The narrative unfolds as the family’s hopes for a peaceful future are disrupted by the eldest son, Jeremy, whose behavioral issues lead to growing familial turmoil. In a twist of fate, Sasha, now an adult and a professional social worker, returns to her family’s past to confront and manage the chaos that unfolded during her childhood.
Roles Available:
PAUL (Principal Role) – Male, 30s/40s, open ethnicity. Character is portrayed as a devoted father with a deep commitment to traditional family values, yet finds himself challenged by the complexities of his family dynamics.
Job Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with directors and fellow actors to bring the script to life
- Participate in rehearsals as scheduled by the production team
- Maintain a professional demeanor and punctuality throughout the production period
- Deliver performances in line with the director’s vision and character requirements
Requirements:
- Must be a Vancouver local (non-union)
- Previous acting experience in film or theater preferred
- Ability to portray complex emotional dynamics and character development
- Must be available for the entire shooting schedule as required
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings if necessary
- Must provide own transportation and accommodation
Compensation:
- Principal Roles: $250/day
