Job Description: We are currently seeking an African American or Asian female actor, aged between 35-50, for a day player role in a new independent film. The character is a motherly figure, lovingly referred to as everyone’s “theatre mom”. She is warm, nurturing, and serves as the biggest advocate and supporter for a group of young aspiring actors. This role requires a strong ability to convey deep empathy and unwavering support through both dialogue and non-verbal expressions.
Responsibilities:
- Portray the character of a motherly figure with authenticity and depth.
- Collaborate closely with the director and other actors to bring the script to life.
- Be available for wardrobe fittings, rehearsals, and all scheduled shooting dates.
- Adhere to the directions given by the film director and crew.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism on set.
Requirements:
- Gender: Female
- Descent: African American or Asian
- Age: Between 35 and 50 years old
- Experience in film or theater acting is preferred.
- Ability to convey a wide range of emotions authentically.
- Must be local to Baltimore or willing to work as a local hire.
- Must be available on the specified shooting date (12/7).
- Membership in SAG-AFTRA is preferred, but not mandatory.
Compensation:
- Rate: SAG Ultra Low Budget Scale
