STORYLINE: The Midnight Song is a narrative feature about a band of childhood friends who break into a studio at midnight to record their debut album and get out before getting caught. The album they plan on making aims to help bring back their mentor’s memory, who suffers from Alzheimer’s disease.

MARS: Female. Early 20’s. Guitarist/Vocalist. African-American. One of the band’s main writers and founding members. Obsessed with music. Humorous, ambitious and driven. Influenced by her musician father (Ben); now his caretaker. She has a history of being picked on in school, so she developed a cunning vocabulary as a defense mechanism.  

THE ENGINEER: 50-Year-Old Male. Burnt out Audio Engineer. Almost nihilistic. Very smart and funny. He has substance abuse issues, which Jerri is inspiring in him to work out with himself.

JERRI: Mid 40’s. Female. Open Ethnicity. Bartender. A very intelligent individualistic woman with a strong sense of self; she can be both cold and compassionate in a bundle. BEN; Early 60’s. African American Male. Wise old musician. Mentor for the band. He suffers from Alzheimer’s Disease and has been forced into a wheelchair.
