  • Character Description: The protagonist, Jo, is a strong-willed, adventurous, and brave young woman who stands up for her beliefs. She should possess a great sense of humor, an amazing singing voice, and the ability to be a star performer.
  • Vocal Range: E3-A5 (Belt/Mix)
  • Compensation: $900 per week

[LAURIE LAURENCE]

  • Age: 21 to 28 to play 18-23 years old
  • Ethnicity: All ethnicities
  • Character Description: Laurie Laurence is the charming, bright-eyed boy next door. He should exude considerable charm and charisma.
  • Vocal Range: Bb2-Bb4 (Tenor)
  • Compensation: $800 per week

[PROFESSOR BHAER]

  • Age: 25 to 45 years old
  • Ethnicity: All ethnicities
  • Character Description: Professor Bhaer is a German professor known for his proper manners. He is a boarder in Mrs. Kirk’s boarding house.
  • Vocal Range: G2-F#4 (Baritone)
  • Compensation: $700 per week

Requirements:

  • All candidates must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
  • Prepare a brief monologue and a 16-32 bar musical selection showcasing your vocal range. Bring sheet music; an accompanist will be provided.
  • Be prepared to participate in a dance/movement audition, so dress appropriately.
  • Headshots and resumes are encouraged.
