Casting Call: Actress for the Role of Pearl Krabs in “The SpongeBob Musical”

Job Description: Slow Burn Theatre Co., in collaboration with Nickelodeon, is thrilled to announce immediate casting submissions for the role of Pearl Krabs in “The SpongeBob Musical”. We are looking for a talented and vibrant actress to bring to life Mr. Krabs’ spirited teenage daughter in this dynamic production.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Portray the character of Pearl Krabs, ensuring an accurate representation of her vivacious and youthful spirit.
  • Display exceptional comedic timing and storytelling abilities.
  • Perform strong pop rock belt vocal numbers, with the capability to riff up into the stratosphere confidently.
  • Participate in all ensemble numbers and potentially cover other roles throughout the show.
  • Commit to the entire rehearsal and performance schedule without conflicts.
  • Work closely with the director, musical director, and fellow cast members to develop a cohesive and high-caliber performance.
  • Engage with the creative process, providing input and taking direction to refine performances.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism and teamwork throughout rehearsals and performances.

Requirements:

  • Female, aged 20-29, of Black/African descent.
  • Must possess a strong pop rock belt with a vocal range of Bb3-F#5.
  • Experience in musical theatre preferred.
  • Must be either a member of the Actors’ Equity Association (AEA) or non-union.
  • Available for the first rehearsal starting May 21 and for performances from June 8 – 23.
  • Willing to travel; travel and housing provisions available.

Compensation:

  • A competitive weekly salary of $727.
  • AEA (LOA-LORT D) minimum salary provided.
  • Travel and housing arrangements will be provided for non-local hires.

This comedic musical requires strong performers with powerful pop vocal abilities to help bring the story to life in this staged reading.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform in a developmental reading of a new musical, embodying dynamic characters with strong emotional depth.
  • Deliver powerful vocal performances of pop songs and contribute to the overall musical experience.
