Job Description: Sara Koch Casting is thrilled to announce a casting opportunity for the independent narrative short film, “The Running Kind.” This project operates under the SAG-AFTRA Micro Budget Agreement and will be filming in Stockton, CA. We are seeking talented actresses to portray the role of Shannon, a complex and multifaceted character. This casting call is open to women of all ethnicities, aged 20 to 35 years old.
Job Responsibilities:
- Character Portrayal: Accurately and compellingly portray Shannon, an outgoing and optimistic woman with deep insecurities. Shannon is a natural host who effortlessly brings people together, yet struggles with feelings of unworthiness and relationship issues.
- Performance: Deliver a convincing and emotional performance that captures Shannon’s dual nature – her public optimism and private insecurities.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the director, fellow actors, and the production team to bring the character of Shannon to life.
- Adaptability: Be open to direction and willing to adapt your performance as needed to align with the director’s vision.
Requirements:
- Acting Experience: Prior acting experience is required.
- Age and Gender: Women, aged 20 to 35 years old.
- Ethnicity: Open to all ethnicities.
- Character Understanding: Ability to embody the character traits and complexities of Shannon as described.
- Voiceover Experience: Not required, but please include any relevant experience in a note if applicable.
- Travel Availability: Willingness to travel to Stockton, CA. Travel expenses from L.A. or nearby areas will be covered by the production. Housing will also be provided for all artists.
Compensation:
- Rate of Pay: $285 per day.
- Additional Benefits: Travel expenses and housing covered by the production.
