Storyline

This project is a non-broadcast, mobile-app-based video and audio addiction-therapy program. Developed by the Yale University Department of Psychiatry with support from the Mohegan Tribe of CT, this initiative aims to provide a digital intervention through cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) for individuals battling problem gambling. The app will offer skills and techniques to address gambling addiction as part of a multi-year, closed, patient study.

Description:

  • Age: 60-70 years old

  • Requirements: A seasoned actor with a broad range and excellent memorization skills for on-camera and voice-over reenactments of real-life situational scenes. This is a smoking role, where the talent may be required to use non-tobacco or herbal prop-cigarettes and work with a pet (cat or dog). Candidates must indicate their comfort level with smoking and pets in their self-tapes.

  • Character Background: Beatrice is a grandmother grappling with a gambling problem, seeking an escape from her depression and grief following her husband’s death. Her addiction to the lively casino atmosphere has adversely affected her health and strained familial and financial relationships.

  • Appearance: This role appears in 12 videos, totaling under 30 minutes of screen time, involving 8 testimonial/teleprompter scenes and 4 dialogue/memorized scenes.

Job Responsibilities

  • Memorize and perform on-camera and voice-over reenactments based on real-life situations and dialogues.

  • Work comfortably with non-tobacco or herbal prop-cigarettes and pets as required for the role.

  • Attend and actively participate in rehearsals and fittings as scheduled.

Compensation:

  • Central CT Shoots: $1,200/10 hrs. + 10%, for 2 consecutive days
