Job Description
The Creative Director’s role is to be a source of vision, inspiration, and creative direction for the multiple account teams within a given portfolio of business. The Creative Director is responsible for helping to form strategies, shape creative vision, and liaison with the client and account teams to ensure that the creative product and its strategic goals exceed expectations of the client.
The Creative Director is expected to be able to present and expertly articulate the strategy behind the work of any Core Creative Team within their portfolio, as needed. They are the public face for the creative unit within a given portfolio and as such must possess highly refined people skills, exceptional creative talent, a personal drive for excellence in creative art direction and messaging, and an acute understanding of both the business goals of the office and the clients they service.
The CD must have a proven record of successful campaigns. The Creative director is expected to participate in and be a valuable asset to the Business Development team of that office.
Responsibilities
- Inspire and direct the creation and delivery of competitive, original, adaptation and award-winning creative solutions
- Lead teams in brand campaign creation, conceptualization, and asset development across all platforms
- Continuously inspires, directs, and mentors their creative teams and those around them
- Work directly with the CCO to develop creative vision for given office
- Partners with Account Leads to drive successful campaigns and Client business results
- Establish and maintain communications processes with cross disciplinary teams
- Proactively bring forward new ideas, inspirational references and creative design thinking that elevates the client and agency brand
- Direct and steer the development of client presentations and other important communication ensuring that it is clear, compelling, and persuasive
- Embrace the creative opportunities in the social and activation space.
- Collaborates with cross functional teams, and contributes to the production process
- Ability to build collaborative partnerships with clients.
- Stay abreast of industry, competitor, and cultural trends, pulling these references into creative ideas
- Provide both informal on-going performance feedback and conducts formal reviews for all Creative teams managed
- Identifies training opportunities for team members and facilitates their growth and development
Qualifications
- 10+ years of professional experience creating campaigns and branding with a strong understanding and foundation in design/art fundamentals
- Experience leading a team of creative teams and designers
- Experience in Automotive would be beneficial.
- Experience in integrated campaigns including digital and retail experience
- Demonstrates ability to generate revenue and nurture client via long term client relationship success
- Proven ability to think strategically, with a modern creative approach
- Demonstrates excellence in interpersonal skills, especially in situations involving consensus and team building, can motivate staff at all levels
- Ability to manage relationships with senior agency and client stakeholders
- Experience collaborating with agency operations and finance teams

- You’ll take leadership of the in-house creative team for a tourism and leisure organization in Toronto

Culture & Engagement
- Lead and facilitate team wide calls fostering development of professional working relationships.

- Screen candidates through live video calls to understand their skills, experiences, and career alignment with any open roles.

- Prepare employment agreements for successful candidates.
- Ensure smooth execution of the onboarding process for new hires through coordinating with direct reports and the training team.

Male. Early 60s. Chinese/East Asian. A board member at the Lee Family Association of Calgary, which helps members of the Chinese community with anything from immigration to quick loans. He’s perceptive and unforgiving.
PRINCIPAL
Storyline: Lucky is a gambling addict whose dream is to get-rich-quick. When he falls prey to a tax scam, his already precarious financial situation – which he’s kept secret from his wife, Noël – becomes much much worse. Lucky attempts to remake the money through loan sharks, favours from his old gang affiliates, and gambling, but he’s eventually sussed out by his daughter, Tina. As a point of pride, Lucky rejects Tina’s offers of assistance, and his subsequent bad choices and bad luck cumulate with Noël discovering Lucky’s duplicity. Much later, at Tina’s graduation ceremony, the inevitable downfall of events have taken their course. Although Tina is financially weighed down by parents, she’s achieved some independence. Lucky and Noël are are no longer together, but on the road to stability. In the end, all three have learned something: life goes on no matter what.

The Role
North Star: The Art Director will be responsible for the design, execution, and conceptualization of the visual style and images within the brand standards of the client. The Art Director will create and present the overall design and direct others who develop artwork or layouts.
The Art Director will frequently oversee the work of other designers and artists who produce the final artwork. They determine the overall style or tone, desired for each project and articulate their vision to the Mint designer assigned to the specific client. Their work requires them to understand the required design elements of projects, inspire other creative workers, and keep projects on budget, on brand and on time.
Working under the supervision of an Executive Creative Director the Art Director is responsible for idea generation and artistic direction of a variety of projects.
The Art Director will be responsible for the following:
- Present creative concepts and provide artistic direction;
- Work together with a copywriter, strategists and account services;
